Hardwood floors is more popular today than ever before. That makes perfect sense too, given the diverse range of hardwood styles, textures, patterns, and colors that are now available. This broad selection assures homeowners that they will find exactly the ‘look’ they prefer and that it will complement their existing or new interior design scheme.

Suncrest Supply provides and professionally installs hardwood flooring for homeowners in Riviera Beach, Singer Island, Lake Park and other nearby Florida areas at excellent prices. Our State licensed and insured installation crew is well trained to install every modern flooring material to the manufacturer’s recommendations in order to fully protect your manufacturer’s warranty.

Hardwood flooring is available in several types. These include:

Solid hardwood

Solid hardwood floors are one solid piece of wood that has tongue and groove sides for fast, easy installation. Solid wood floors are prone to absorbing moisture. For this reason, they are not recommended for use below ground level, or directly on top of any concrete slab. For these areas of your home, flooring professionals will almost always recommend that you use an engineered hardwood floor.

Factory-finished solid hardwood

Pre-finished hardwood flooring comes straight from the factory ready for installation in your residence. The hardwood boards have been sanded, stained, and pre-finished with a durable polyurethane surface coating at the factory where they were manufactured. In many cases, factory-finished hardwood provides a more durable, better-protected floor surface. After several coats of polyurethane have been sprayed onto the boards, they are then UV dried to develop a very durable surface finish that also has a great shine.

Pre-finished floors can be had in a wide variety of different wood species and save many hours of labor and cleanup that also saves you money. When they inevitably wear and begin to look dull after many years of use, they may also be sanded down and re-coated by an inexpensive hardwood refinishing process. This process replaces the dull finish and restores your floor’s original good looks and excellent durability for many years ahead.

Custom hardwood

If you want a custom stained hardwood floor to match your specific preference or a wood floor to complement your room’s existing trim, then a floor finished in your home will be the only way to go.

Site finishing means you start with bare un-coated hardwood flooring. Once that is installed, the floor will have to be sanded, custom stained, and finished in your home. The only real benefit of site finishing beside the custom ‘look’ will be if you are at all concerned with tiny uneven height differences between the individual planks. In this case, the sanding process will even out any small height differences in the floor. However, you should be aware that this process normally creates quite a mess, and normally adds several days to the installation’s completion.

Engineered hardwood

Engineered hardwood floors are ideal to use in locations such as basements that are below ground level and prone to moisture. Engineered hardwood floors are usually made by using as many as 5 or 9thin layers of wood veneer that are laminated to create each individual flooring plank. This cross-ply assembly develops a finished plank that is highly resistant to expansion and contraction from any moisture. Engineered floors can be installed in several ways; they can be nailed, stapled glued down or even ‘floated’ above nearly any sub-floor, including several existing flooring materials.

You will have many diverse types and styles of hardwood flooring to select from. Therefore, it’s a good idea to visit our showroom in Riviera Beach, FL, where you can discuss your interest in hardwood flooring in detail and also view actual samples with one of our professional flooring consultants.
